Club’s camera warning

The Weekly Advertiser Horsham - - News -

Horsham City Bowling Club officials have warned people contemplating criminal activity at their Park Drive headquarters that a comprehensive security-camera system is in place.

Club president Graham Mcdonald said the warning came after security cameras captured footage of what appeared to be teenage girls trespassing on and vandalising club greens.

Mr Mcdonald said footage showed three people entering the greens from Gleed Street at 9.27pm on Saturday night. It also showed the people picking up rink markers and throwing them onto the synthetic green.

Mr Mcdonald said the club had handed the footage to police.

“When the markers have landed they have cut the greens in five places. The damage will cost the club about $1000 to repair,” he said. “A tap had also been turned on and water had flowed until 8am the next morning, flooding a verandah area.”
