Hor­sham Am­a­teur Bas­ket­ball As­so­ci­a­tion will vie for two ti­tles at a Nara­coorte ju­nior tour­na­ment at the week­end.

The Hor­sham Hor­nets un­der-16 girls will head to the tour­na­ment for their fi­nal hitout in the lead-up to Bas­ket­ball Coun­try Vic­to­ria cham­pi­onships.

The girls have qual­i­fied for di­vi­sion three and four cham­pi­onships in three weeks’ time.

The Hor­nets will con­test di­vi­sion one against teams from Nara­coorte, Border­town and Mil­li­cent.

Hor­sham as­so­ci­a­tion is also eye­ing a di­vi­sion-two ti­tle with its un­der-12 boys team.

Coach Tony Sleep said it would be his charges’ fi­nal tour­na­ment of the sea­son.

“They have shown ter­rific im­prove­ment for a largely bot­tom-age team and I am re­ally look­ing for­ward to see­ing how they go at the week­end in Nara­coorte,” he said.

“Many of the team still have next year avail­able in the age group, so this year has def­i­nitely been about learn­ing the right skills to play the game.”

The Hor­sham boys will com­pete against teams from Mt Gam­bier, Mil­li­cent, Keith, Border­town, Port­land and Mt Gam­bier.
