Narrow miss for jackpot
Young Sebastopol shooter Travis Gull missed taking home a $1000 jackpot by one point at Ararat Clay Target Club’s September shoot.
In a twist to the end of competition, one of his fellow shooters went out after shooting had finished to find the target he missed and gave it to him during presentations.
The event attracted 29 competitors who were presented with 85 targets. Three shooters started the day off well, Gull, Leon Gibson and Norm Watts scoring 3030 in an eye-opener. The second event was a 75-target champion of champions grade championship with Gull winning overall and AA Grade with 124-125. Second was John Soufis on 122-125.
A Grade went to Wayne Calaby on 121-125 from Gavin Horrigan. B Grade went to William Joiner on 107-125 from Troy Pilmore 105-125 and C Grade to Leighton Hateley 106-125.
