Kealy calls for government support

The Weekly Advertiser Horsham - - News -

Member for Lowan Emma Kealy has urged the State Government to provide money to help make a Balmoral Community Complex project a reality.

Ms Kealy made the call after joining Victorian Opposition sport representative Tim Mccurdy to discuss the project with Balmoral project committee representatives.

“Infrastructure at the Balmoral Recreation Reserve is white-ant ridden and some of the areas are unsafe for public use,” Ms Kealy said.

She said a 2016 feasibility study also showed overwhelming support for a larger community building, which could provide a venue for functions, events and meetings.

“I congratulate Balmoral and District Showground Recreation Reserve Committee and the extended community on this outstanding fundraising effort. It clearly demonstrates the strong community support for this project,” Ms Kealy said.

“Facilities of this nature are critical to the social fabric of rural communities and it’s vital the government steps in.”
