Whop­per wins fam­ily day

David Isaac­son landed a whop­per 1.363-kilo­gram redfin to win the open sec­tion of Hor­sham An­gling Club’s De­laney Fam­ily Day com­pe­ti­tion at Toolondo Reser­voir.

Redfin dom­i­nated the prize list as par­tic­i­pants re­ported high-qual­ity fish­ing through­out the event.

Bruce Thom­son won a se­nior sec­tion with a 0.794kg redfin from Adam Hinch, 0.773, Trevor Muller, 0.756 and Larelle Souter 0.729. Ju­nior an­glers caught some of the best redfin on the day with Rusty Vanstan land­ing a 1.149kg fish to win from Fletcher Wilson, 1.010, Koby Lang, 0.923 and Zephr Vanstan, 0.762.

The event fea­tured 23 adults and six ju­niors who caught many of their fish on lures and plas­tic baits.

A Gone Fish­ing Sun­day pro­mo­tional event will be at Hor­sham Po­lice Pad­dock this Sun­day and the Hor­sham club will run a fish­ing com­pe­ti­tion from 9am un­til 1pm, as well as a free bar­be­cue to co­in­cide with the event.

On Satur­day, from 10am un­til noon, the club will pro­vide an op­por­tu­nity for an­glers to paint their own lures to use in the com­pe­ti­tion.

Club mem­bers are also re­port­ing good fish­ing at Tay­lors Lake and are wait­ing for Lake War­took to start pro­duc­ing good catches.
