Wimmera motorcycling enthusiasts will join a western Victorian attempt on Sunday to raise more than $15,000 for women and their families affected by breast cancer.
Wimmera riders are joining a 2017 Pink Ribbon Ride to Ballarat and inviting people to join the event.
The Wimmera ride, starting in Horsham, is one of seven rides across Victoria that ends at Ballarat’s Lake Wendouree.
Wimmera lead motorcyclist Steve Arnott said the ride would leave Wimmera Motorcyle Co about 9am and hopes to recruit riders from Stawell and Ararat along the way, with a stop at Ararat’s Caltex Foodery about 10.30am.
“We certainly welcome anyone interested in joining in. When we get to Ballarat there will be live music, food and raffles. It’s going to be a great day,” he said.
Wimmera Breastcare nurse Wendy Crafter said the ride would raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
“Please get behind this great cause,” she said. Riders in the event will pay $20 and pillions $10.
