Serious wine events
The Grampians will burst to life for week-long festivities on Friday as the region celebrates all things wine, food and entertainment.
Grampians Wine Region, featuring some of the best wineries in Australia, will present its annual eventpacked Seriously Shiraz festival until November 7.
It is inviting guests to taste their way across the Grampians at more than 20 events at a variety of venues as part of a celebration of award-winning wine, in particular shiraz for which the region has considerable international reputation.
Grampians Tourism chief executive Marc Sleeman said the five-day festival celebrated five-star James Halliday-rated wines with names such as Best’s Great Western, Montara Wines, Grampians Estate, Mount Langi Ghiran, Seppelt Great Western and Halls Gap Estate all involved, as along with favourites Mountainside Wines, Barangaroo Boutique Wines, Sub Rosa, The Story Wines, One Tonne Wine Co and Steel Cutters Cottage.
Australian music industry icons Wendy Stapleton, Paul Norton and Michael Cristiano will perform at Montara Wines on Friday as part of a huge weekend of activities.
