Dimboola Ski Club has donated $2327.50 to Wimmera Against Cancer in Kids, WACK, from money raised at its Peter Taylor Memorial Weekend Barefoot Tournament.

The Dimboola club, in conjunction with Barefoot SA and the Victorian Barefoot Club, ran the event on the Wimmera River in October.

The late Peter Taylor of Ballarat, who died in May, was a long-time member and supporter of Dimboola Ski Club as well as a state and national representative in barefoot waterskiing.

The tournament featured Australia’s best barefooters, both past and present, competing in a spectacular night jump event.

Dimboola vice-president Lachlan Schultz said the tournament was a great success for the club, Dimboola, barefoot waterskiing and WACK.

“We have also donated $1000 to Ballarat Palliative Care, which helped care for Peter and support his family,” Mr Schultz said.

WACK trustee Brendan Mckinnon said the organisation was pleased to receive donations to help support families of children with cancer.
