Global award for Sud­holz

Thomas Sud­holz, of Hor­sham, has won recog­ni­tion for his ded­i­ca­tion to in­ter­na­tional un­der­stand­ing while study­ing at Deakin Univer­sity.

Univer­sity lead­ers pre­sented him with a Global Cit­i­zen­ship Award, an ini­tia­tive of Deakin Univer­sity, at Deakin Edge Fed­er­a­tion Square Mel­bourne.

The award re­flects ded­i­ca­tion to con­sid­er­able time and ef­fort to in­ter­na­tional roles while un­der­tak­ing stud­ies.

Mr Sud­holz met the cri­te­rion through his pres­i­dency of both the Deakin En­gi­neer­ing So­ci­ety and Univer­sity Cricket So­ci­ety, vol­un­teer­ing as a peer sup­port net­work leader and by rep­re­sent­ing Deakin Univer­sity in South Africa as an in­ter­na­tional stu­dent.

He wrote a col­umn for The Weekly Ad­ver­tiser while study­ing over­seas.

He has com­pleted a dou­ble de­gree in en­gi­neer­ing and com­merce and is work­ing with Gwmwa­ter in Hor­sham.

Thomas will con­fer his bach­e­lor de­grees in Fe­bru­ary.
