Anne wins Ro­tary car

Hopetoun’s Anne Robert­son is the owner of a new $33,808 Ford Es­cape SUV ve­hi­cle af­ter Hor­sham East Ro­tary Club sold her the win­ning ticket in a ma­jor western Vic­to­rian raffle.

Ms Robert­son bought the ticket, part of Ro­tary Club of Ballarat South’s Com­mu­nity As­sis­tance Car Raffle, from Hor­sham Plaza dur­ing school hol­i­days.

Hor­sham East Ro­tary Club also re­ceived a $1000 bonus for sell­ing the win­ning ticket.

Hor­sham club car-raffle co-or­di­na­tor Zane Bell said ‘a small army’ of vol­un­teers had sold tick­ets from Septem­ber through to the end of De­cem­ber.

“I had the plea­sure of meet­ing Anne per­son­ally for a photo shoot with the new car at Lake Las­celles in Hopetoun. She was very ex­cited to have won the car,” he said.

The Com­mu­nity As­sis­tance Car Raffle has been run­ning for many years and is de­signed to give small, not-for-profit clubs and com­mu­nity groups an op­por­tu­nity to raise money.

Hor­sham East Ro­tary Club is one of the largest reg­u­lar money-rais­ers in­volved in the raffle.
