Bonne a sensation

- BY JOSH MACKAY

Horsham trainer Paul Preusker continued his purple patch of form, with a winner at Hamilton.

The Preusker stable saddled up the handy Bonne Sensation, in a 1100-metre handicap at benchmark 64-level.

In-form apprentice Tahlia Hope, who has proven a good combination with Preusker in recent times, was in the saddle.

Bonne Sensation was slightly tardy leaving the gates, but soon mustered and box seated behind Kirk Ella.

The flashy faced Bon Hoffa mare continued to travel well off a solid race tempo.

Once in the straight, Bonne Sensation seemed to take a while to wind up, however, when she knuckled down, she came with a strong run.

The four-year-old proved too good for the field, scoring by a long neck on the post.

Bonne Sensation is putting together a handy little record for her owners, headed by Horsham owner-breeder Ross Starr.

Yendall chipping away

Horsham jockey Dean Yendall registered a couple of winners during the weekend, albeit 660 kilometres apart.

Firstly, Yendall attended the Morphettville meeting, teaming with Darren Weir to ride Whispering Brook.

The Hinchinbrook four-yearold took out the 1200-metre John C Harris 70th birthday handicap, showing too much speed leading all the way and scoring an easy win.

Yendall endured a frustrating run at Sunday’s Ballarat meeting with only a second placing to his name. However, Monday at Echuca he teamed with Weir again, riding Lasayette for the leading stable in a benchmark 58-handicap.

Lasayette came from on speed to score a comfortable win by one length.
