Science circus a big hit

The Weekly Advertiser Horsham - - News -

Hundreds of people from across the Wimmera and Mallee have made the most of a hands-on science experience at Horsham Town Hall.

A pop-up science centre, part of a Shell Questacon Science Circus tour, included more than 40 hands-on exhibits.

Organisers said the town hall came alive with excitement and laughter as children, adults and seniors tried their own science experiments and enjoyed ‘spectacular’ shows.

Hands were ‘set on fire’ by Count Spatula and participants were also treated to levitating beach balls, vanishing water, and snap-frozen balloons.

Questacon, The National Science and Technology Centre, is based in Canberra. It strives to promote greater understanding and awareness of science and technology within the community in a fun, interactive and relevant way.

The Shell Questacon Science Circus tour of regional Victoria runs for three weeks.

The tour involves engaging science shows at schools, along with setting up science centres in a range of community venues.
