A 13-year-old boy who allegedly hit an older student with a crowbar during a schoolyard fight has been given a juvenile caution by police and suspended from school.
The Hampton Senior High School Year 8 student has been suspended for the 10-day maximum and the school is still investigating the behaviour of other students in the altercation.
Police were called to the Morley school on Tuesday morning after the Year 8 student allegedly hit a Year 9 student in the face as the 14-year-old tried to protect a friend who was being bullied.
Teachers rushed to intervene, disarming the alleged attacker and locking him in a classroom until police arrived. The injured boy had a cut above his right eye and a swollen face.
