Police hunt for Gosnells drive-by gunman
Police are hunting a gunman who opened fire on a home in Gosnells in an early morning drive-by shooting yesterday.
A dozen shots were fired from a Holden Commodore at the house on Harry Street at 5am, causing damage to the property.
Bullets penetrated the walls, bins left outdoors and windows of the home.
Forensic officers were on the scene a short time later to inspect the casings left behind on the road. Detectives believe the target resides in the top story of the property. Luckily no one was at home and there were no injuries.
The shots were fired in quick succession and neighbours said it was all over within about 10 seconds.
But that was long enough to leave them terrified, according to nearby resident Shanee.
“It was quite nerve-racking,” she told 7 News last night. “You would like to think it was a car backfiring but it wasn’t — you can tell the difference.
“I’ve got two small children sleeping, so it was a bit of, ‘OK, what the hell do you do now?’ ”
Neighbours said there was an argument at the home a few days ago involving three men in which the same vehicle is believed to have been present.
