Time to fish again
NSW has spent about $16 million in measures to control their shark numbers (News, 17/5). If they had put shark back on the menu they could have made money by selling the healthy meat and created local jobs. Where is the evidence that the great white shark population off the WA coast would become endangered if we resumed commercial fishing? In the absence or any direct evidence we should be allowed to resume fishing.
