Where was the outcry?
The “rational suicide” of Dr David Goodall, who was elderly and “tired of living”, was greeted with deafening silence by the suicide-prevention agencies BeyondBlue and Lifeline. Does this mean there are now acceptable reasons for people to take their own lives? I am appalled at their failure to condemn Dr Goodall’s action, which was also supported by the euthanasia lobby. Clearly the claim euthanasia will be limited to the “terminally ill” is a myth. It is time the media and the public woke up to this.
