The romance factor at Linneys is on overload as the leading jeweller’s creative director Justin Linney prepares for his wedding to partner Cat Golledge in Noosa, Queensland. The glamour couple will exchange vows on November 16 in an intimate ceremony at Maison La Plage on a grassed area where the beach meets the forest in front of 80 close friends and family before a reception at Sails.

“Noosa is really important to us because we’ve had a lot of family holidays there and it’s my parents’ favourite spot,” Linney told AAA Weekend.

“Cat has family who live there as well and a lot of our friends haven’t been so it’s great to share it with them. Most of the guests are taking a week off for a break into the lead-up to Christmas. Personally, I like the surfing and Cat and I both like walking and running in the national park.”

Usually the one to work with clients on their specific needs when designing rings, Linney said: “I had a job designing my own wedding ring. It highlighted to me the importance of a custom-made piece.

“We’re into our third generation of clients here at Linneys. I’ve been the facilitator through the process of engagements, weddings, first baby gifts and birthdays and now I’m on my own journey. “I’ve spent 11 years making rings for our clients and it made me realise how symbolic the rings are. These moments are so individual.”

The big event coincides with the launch of Linneys’ new Butterfly Lovers collection which is inspired by the romance of a Chinese love story.

“It’s quite timely given the new collection’s theme of love and taking a step back at this time in my life to celebrate my own individual love story and joining my life with Cat’s,” he said.

Golledge’s wedding ring complements her stunning yellow diamond engagement ring. The couple collaborated on its design, which features 14 square emerald cut diamonds which equal 1.18 carats. Linney’s platinum ring features a Keshi black pearl and nine white diamonds in a signature free-form design synonymous with his father Alan’s signature style, which he started 46 years ago.
