Traffic conditions at saleyards change
STARTING on Wednesday, the main entrance to the Roma saleyards will be closed temporarily to allow works to be undertaken.
A number of alternative access arrangements will be in place for an estimated four weeks while the work to the site is completed.
All traffic heading to the saleyards will be redirected via Billy Bob Way and a temporary access will be constructed off the end of Primaries Rd to allow entry and exit to the precinct during the construction.
A number of traffic management measures will also be in place during this time.
Motorists are asked to drive to the conditions, and observe all signage and traffic directions during this time, as a number of construction employees will be working close to the roads.
The entrance upgrade works, once complete, are set to help improve traffic flow into and out of the facility, cater for Type 2 vehicles, and complement the new heavy vehicle hardstand area and truckstop, which will soon be constructed onsite.
The Maranoa Regional Council thanked all Roma saleyards users and visitors in advance for their patience and co-operation while these works are under way.
