Traf­fic con­di­tions at sa­le­yards change

START­ING on Wed­nes­day, the main en­trance to the Roma sa­le­yards will be closed tem­po­rar­ily to al­low works to be un­der­taken.

A num­ber of al­ter­na­tive ac­cess ar­range­ments will be in place for an es­ti­mated four weeks while the work to the site is com­pleted.

All traf­fic head­ing to the sa­le­yards will be redi­rected via Billy Bob Way and a tem­po­rary ac­cess will be con­structed off the end of Pri­maries Rd to al­low en­try and exit to the precinct dur­ing the con­struc­tion.

A num­ber of traf­fic man­age­ment mea­sures will also be in place dur­ing this time.

Mo­torists are asked to drive to the con­di­tions, and ob­serve all sig­nage and traf­fic di­rec­tions dur­ing this time, as a num­ber of con­struc­tion em­ploy­ees will be work­ing close to the roads.

The en­trance up­grade works, once com­plete, are set to help im­prove traf­fic flow into and out of the fa­cil­ity, cater for Type 2 ve­hi­cles, and com­ple­ment the new heavy ve­hi­cle hard­stand area and truck­stop, which will soon be con­structed on­site.

The Maranoa Re­gional Coun­cil thanked all Roma sa­le­yards users and vis­i­tors in ad­vance for their pa­tience and co-oper­a­tion while th­ese works are un­der way.
