Cricket shield

THE Steve Mur­ray Per­pet­ual Cricket Shield will be held to­mor­row in Mitchell. There will be a bar and bar­be­cue on of­fer on the day and plenty of cricket ac­tion.

You can ei­ther nom­i­nate a name or form a team of eight by call­ing Chris Hughes on 0428 233 198.

Tro­phies on the day have been do­nated by the Mur­ray fam­ily.

Bowls Day

THE Roma QAS Lo­cal Am­bu­lance Com­mit­tee will host a char­ity bowls day to­mor­row.

Make up a team, join in the fun and sup­port the lo­cal am­bu­lance team as they fight for the win.

There will be four peo­ple to a team and if you don’t have a team you will be al­lo­cated one.

Mo­tor club meet­ing

THE Roma His­tor­i­cal Mo­tor Club will host its Oc­to­ber meet­ing at Yuleba on Sun­day.

Club mem­bers will dis­cuss up­com­ing events such as the Aus­tralia’s Grande Coun­try Car­ni­vale, the an­nual Mo­tor­bike Christ­mas Run and the Roma State Col­lege for­mal. There will also be a morn­ing tea served from 10am.

WAG’s Expo

WOMEN are in­vited to the WAGs Expo in Su­rat on Sun­day.

The day will cel­e­brate the In­ter­na­tional Ru­ral Women’s Day and will show­case ru­ral women in small busi­ness.

Helen Ever­ing­ham will be the guest speaker at the event and there will be a fash­ion pa­rade by Gre­tel Lane.

There will be heaps of stalls to browse, high tea and a bar. Tick­ets are $20 and avail­able for pre pur­chase only at the Su­rat Li­brary. Tick­ets in­clude en­try, gourmet high tea and a gift bag for the first 100 tick­ets sold.

Ghost tour

COME along for a twi­light ghost and his­tory ad­ven­ture, and be taken on a guided group tour of al­leged; y haunted lo­ca­tions in Roma, dis­cover the ghostly tales of yes­ter­year and learn why these leg­ends still sur­vive to­day.

You will be led by one of Roma's most knowl­edge­able and ex­pert his­to­ri­ans and folk­lorists who will take you on a jour­ney, turn­ing back the pages of time.

Tours will run with groups of 10 or more. Chil­dren must be older than five years, and all chil­dren/ teenagers un­der 18 must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. Book­ings are es­sen­tial. Limited spots avail­able, so claim your tick­ets now at Eventbrite.
