Play­ers pre­pare for fi­nals at Darts club

DARTS: After a busy sea­son, com­peti­tors took aim dur­ing the last friendly meets be­fore the start of the Roma Darts home com­pe­ti­tion, to be held next Mon­day at the club­house.

On Mon­day night, ladies’ teams got in their last prac­tise, with fi­nal re­sults show­ing some hard-fought bat­tles.

The Dragons came through to nar­rowly pip the Out­backs 5-4, with the Royalettes also de­feat­ing the Tan­gos in a close game 5-4.

Keep­ing with the theme, the Grem­lins suf­fered a close de­feat at the hands of the Out­casts, with an­other 5-4 fi­nal score.

High score of the night went to both Melinda Mar­tin and Narelle Wil­son on a 140, and high­est peg was awarded to Cherie Jef­frey on a 95.

Wed­nes­day evening bought a much more mixed bag of re­sults.

The Crows up-ended the Out­laws 3-6, the Drovers ploughed past the HiJacks 7-2 and the Big Guns scored large against the Mis­fits 8-1.

The Hustlers came through to de­feat the Devils 6-3.

High­est score went to Melinda Mar­tin for a 160, with high­est peg awarded to Bren­dan Thomas on a 106.
