A RES­I­DENT is call­ing all par­ties in­ter­ested in dis­cussing the coun­cil’s draft Mara­noa Busi­ness and In­dus­try Strat­egy to at­tend one of a se­ries of meet­ings with their ideas. In an open let­ter to The West­ern Star,

Steve Mer­rick dis­cussed the is­sues sur­round­ing plans to ap­prove per­ma­nent work camps in the area. Mr Mer­rick is urg­ing all busi­ness owners to at­tend one of the fol­low­ing meet­ings, stat­ing that the opin­ions of the busi­ness com­mu­nity are vi­tal to the fu­ture eco­nomic di­rec­tion of Roma. A meet­ing is run­ning to­day from 9.30am–1.30pm at Ex­plor­ers Inn, Le­ich­hardt Room, and next Mon­day, Novem­ber 20, from 4.30–7.30pm at the Ex­plor­ers Inn func­tion cen­tre.
