Driver three times limit

PO­LICE had a busy week­end, ap­pre­hend­ing a num­ber of driv­ers for op­er­at­ing ve­hi­cles under the in­flu­ence.

At 1.45am Satur­day, po­lice ap­proached a man and woman sit­ting in a parked ve­hi­cle.

The male driver ad­vised po­lice he had driven from the Wal­lum­billa pub and was sub­se­quently breath tested and blew a pos­i­tive read­ing. Fur­ther tests re­vealed he had a blood al­co­hol read­ing of 0.172, three times above the limit. His li­cense was suspended and he is due to ap­pear in court. At 7.30am the same day, po­lice in­ter­cepted an­other ve­hi­cle trav­el­ling west on the War­rego High­way.

The driver was breath tested and blew a pos­i­tive read­ing. On fur­ther test­ing, the driver blew a read­ing of 0.112, twice the le­gal limit.

The driver was is­sued with a no­tice to ap­pear in court.
