THE Roma Saleyards Improvement Plan Stage 1 is progressing with the selling pen yard frames now complete and welding of the fence rails now in full swing.

The new selling pens and drafts are being built on the eastern side of the yards and will make way for additional receival/delivery yards on the western side.

Stage 1 of the Improvement Plan is set to be completed in April 2019 (weather permitting).

Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for the Roma Saleyards said it was fantastic to see the construction of the new selling yards developing and to see how much more room it would make for additional receivable/delivery yards once completed.

“Seeing strong progress on the Saleyards Improvement Plan is a great achievement for Maranoa Regional Council and we look forward to the continual development in the coming months,” Cr Flynn said.

The total cost of the Roma Saleyards Improvement Plan – Stage 1 project is about $2.173 million.
