Delicious sticky pork

The Western Star - - RURALWEEKLY -

IT MAY seem like a lot of coke for this recipe, and it is, but it doesn’t get entirely absorbed or consumed. It’s more for the taste factor.

■ 1 piece of uncooked roast pork

■ 2 litres of coke

■ 1 tin of condensed milk

■ cup of barbecue sauce

■ Salt or paprika

Place all wet ingredients into a crock-pot and carefully add the pork.

Cook on low for 8–10 hours. After the pork is cooked, let it cool for a bit.

Remove the meat from the crock-pot, place it in a mixing bowl and mix like a cake until it’s like a “pulled” stringy consistency.

You may need to add in more of the juices for extra moisture, but once it is to your liking, dispose of the remaining juices.

Serve on buns with homemade coleslaw.

It also makes good toasted sandwiches and as a topping on pizza.
