Farmers embrace property computer mapping
QUEENSLAND farmers are embracing property computer mapping to boost their businesses and ensure compliance with government regulations.
AgForce GIS technical manager Noel Brinsmead said over the past four months, 300 primary producers attended computer mapping workshops run by AgForce, with more planned this month.
“Property computer mapping is one of the most effective business tools available to primary producers. It can assist with managing and planning infrastructure like fences and irrigation lines, monitoring land condition and can help to reduce the threat of bushfires,” he said.
“An effective property map can also form part of a biosecurity plan, to ensure compliance with vegetation management and to contest land valuations.”
