Joint fam­ily busi­ness pro­vides pre­mium bulls for Roma sale

A JOINT fam­ily en­ter­prise in­volv­ing three gen­er­a­tions – Stephen and Ruth Cor­mack, son Todd and his daugh­ter, Bey­once – Black Gully Drought­mas­ter Stud was reg­is­tered in Jan­uary 2017.

The stud’s pure­bred fe­males, some with calves at foot, have been pur­chased from the fol­low­ing studs: Glen­lands, Rocky View, Alma, Glen Foss­lyn, Yar­rum, High Coun­try, Bryvon­lea, Kar­ra­garra, Wol­fang and Nin­de­thana.

Nin­de­thana Han­nalee was pur­chased for the top price at the 2017 Cream of the Crop sale at Kin­garoy.

“She now has a very im­pres­sive bull calf at foot by RSVP Jack­pot,” Ruth Cor­mack said.

Cur­rent sires in­clude: Ever­sleigh Joker, Jem­brae Kam, Glen Foss­lyn Jackal, Kar­ra­garra MNM.

“We are proud to of­fer our first line of stud bulls. All were calves at foot pur­chased with their moth­ers,” Ms Cor­mack said.

“We run com­mer­cial drought­mas­ter breed­ers on Perola Park Wal­lum­billa and Oak­wood, Wal­lum­billa. We are EU ac­cred­ited and sell steers di­rect to slaugh­ter.”

She said the stud was fo­cused on polled cat­tle and also had herd bulls avail­able, all ris­ing 24 months.
