Be­tween July and Novem­ber each year, there’s no bet­ter way to dis­cover this idyl­lic coast than on a sleek cata­ma­ran with our lo­cal marine mam­mal ex­pert. Re­turn­ing each day to an award-win­ning eco lodge, you’ll take a guided gourmet tour of the world’s largest sand is­land to see din­goes in the wild. For a deeply re­lax­ing day, you’ll en­joy a visit to Lady El­liott Is­land to snorkel with tur­tles and, if you’re lucky, meet a Manta Ray or two.

Itin­er­ary:

Day 1-2 From Her­vey Bay, you’ll join the sail­ing ves­sel Blue Dolphin and be taken on a guided morn­ing cruise with Peter Lynch to look for dol­phins and whales (sea­sonal). In the evening, you'll make your way to the beau­ti­ful Emer­aldene Ecolodge.

Day 3 Today you’ll be picked up in a lux­ury SUV and spend a full day on a small group tour of Fraser Is­land, the largest sand is­land in the world where din­goes roam in their nat­u­ral habi­tat. Your tour in­cludes morn­ing tea, lunch and an af­ter­noon tea of cham­pagne, straw­ber­ries and cho­co­late truf­fles.

Day 4-5 Fly to Lady El­liot Is­land Eco Re­sort for two days fully in­clu­sive on this south­ern Great Bar­rier Reef idyll, known as the ‘Home of the Manta Ray’. Snorkel and swim with some of the 1,200 marine species that sur­round this highly pro­tected coral cay.

Day 6 Re­turn to Her­vey Bay.
