Epic Blue Mountains
In the Blue Mountains, you can be five minutes from a coffee shop while standing on the edge of some of the largest untouched wilderness in the world.
Your journey starts at North Head's Q Station hotel which enjoys panoramic views of Sydney Harbour from a national park, home to endangered Long-nosed Bandicoots and Little Penguins. Then you’ll travel to the heart of the Blue Mountains, a private nature reserve in the Capertee Valley, as you take a guided search for Red-necked Wallabies, Wombats and colourful cockatoos, before dining at your farmstay. Finally, you’ll stand at the edge of precipitous cliffs, overlooking sheer-sided valleys 1,000m deep on the edge of the impenetrable Gross Wilderness. You’ll take a guided walk deep into a rainforest valley (returning by cable car) and learn about the world-famous Wollemi Pine, a Jurassic remnant discovered in 1994.
