Start­ing in Syd­ney and the Blue Moun­tains, this re­mark­able trip will take you from the Great Bar­rier Reef to Far North Queens­land and across to the Top End’s famed Kakadu. Some of the high­lights in­clude sail­ing with dol­phins, snorkelling be­side pris­tine coral reefs, spot­light­ing tree kan­ga­roos, ex­pe­ri­enc­ing Indige­nous food cul­ture, break­fast­ing with Duck-billed Platy­pus, cruis­ing for Salt­wa­ter Croc­o­diles on the Dain­tree River and wet­land birdwatching in Kakadu Na­tional Park.

This 21 day tour com­bines the best of our trips across north­ern Aus­tralia from Syd­ney to Darwin. It com­prises el­e­ments from: Syd­ney: Epic Blue Moun­tains (p44); Dis­cov­ery Coast Na­ture Tour (p32 ), Reef to Rain­for­est Moun­tains (p26), Dain­tree Rain­for­est Ex­plo­ration (p28) and Best of Kakadu and the Top End (p50).

Day 1-5 Dis­cover Syd­ney Har­bour’s abun­dant wildlife and ex­pe­ri­ence the Blue Moun­tains on guided walks with Aus­tralia’s most es­teemed nat­u­ral­ists, authors and bush-walk­ers.

Day 6-8 Spend a re­lax­ing few days on the south­ern Great Bar­rier Reef in an eco-re­sort. Daily ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude dolphin or whale­watch­ing (sea­sonal) on board the cata­ma­ran Blue Dolphin and a day trip to snorkel around the trop­i­cal coral cay, Lady El­liott Is­land.

Day 9-12 Stay­ing at a se­cluded rain­for­est lodge owned and run by lo­cal wildlife ex­perts, you’ll be treated to home cooked meals and

share your space with birds of par­adise and even the odd Cas­sowary. Dur­ing three days tour­ing the Ather­ton Table­land, you’ll see a breath-tak­ing ar­ray of land­scapes and wildlife, in the com­pany of one of Aus­tralia’s best wildlife guides.

Day 13-16 Spend a few days be­tween Cairns and the Dain­tree, dis­cov­er­ing one of its best kept se­crets - the Low Isles - with a fam­ily that grew up there. Walk on the seabed of the Great Bar­rier Reef sur­rounded by fish, learn about Indige­nous cul­ture and food, ex­plore the mys­te­ri­ous Dain­tree River and search for cryptic an­i­mals in the World Her­itage Area.

Day 17-19 Dur­ing three days in the com­pany of our na­ture guide in the north, you’ll be guided from Darwin to Mary River and Kakadu, ex­plor­ing the es­carp­ments, rivers, bil­l­abongs and forests for croc­o­diles, pit­tas and rock-wal­la­bies, see­ing rock an­cient art and search­ing for the elu­sive Black Wal­la­roo.

Day20-21 Back to Syd­ney for a day in the city, time to re­lax, process pho­tos and en­joy some sight-see­ing be­fore the jour­ney home.
