WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? The 205 T16 was the most lethally rapid product of rallying’s lethally rapid Group B era, claiming WRC titles in 1985 and 1986 in the hands of Timo Salonen and Juha Kankkunen. Any punter who reckoned they had the skills of a dead-eyed Finn was welcome to test the theory with this homologation version. The fact it had 200bhp rather than the 500bhp of the Group B competition cars presumably came as a relief to insurance companies, if not over-confident drivers.
