Plus the team’s behindthe-scenes japes.

Are you ready for your Voight-Kampff test? This issue I chased the filmmakers and stars of the sequel we thought would never happen, Blade Runner 2049, to try to find out anything, ANYTHING, about this hugely anticipated blockbuster. See if I managed it on page 58. When I wasn’t chasing Ryan Gosling around Barcelona, I was on-set of sniff-fest Goodbye Christopher Robin – in the bear enclosure at London Zoo (no bears present), while the team were rounding up the A-list cast of Kingsman 2, talking to Captain Marvel herself about her latest, The Glass Castle, getting the willies with It, and checking out every tentpole that matters in our comic-book movie preview (and eating radioactive nachos in Hall H).

Now I’ve written about Blade Runner, I’m going to make like Deckard and disappear for a while (on sabbatical, not on the run – and not for 30 years). I’ll be leaving Total Film in the hands of our lovely features editor while I’m gone (travelling in Japan since you ask). He’ll treat you well ’til my return…
