It pains me daily that the billionaires of this world won’t take it upon themselves to just straight up fix the planet. But failing that, at least bring Blockbuster Video back. After 13 years’ service, I’m still devastated that the best job I’m ever likely to have was run so poorly; choosing not to partner up with Netflix being the biggest faux pas. I looked forward to every shift, talking to like-minded folk who would pop in for a chat as much as renting the latest masterpiece/guilty pleasure. Done properly, and run by true believers such as myself, I firmly insist the market is ripe for reincarnation. Please, you have to help me, help us all! Failing that, a free Blu-ray wouldn’t go amiss. PETER RENDER, VIA EMAIL A Blu-ray we can do; Blockbuster, alas, we cannot, though we miss it too. Maybe some day there’ll be an analogue revolution and we’ll wander the blue-and-yellow aisles once more, looking for Friday night in a box. (Though we don’t miss the dozy clerk who half the time would get it wrong and give us Monday morning in a box instead, all scratched up like it had spent a week in a cattery.)
