Ed King and Eddie Willis
We were saddened at the passing of two iconic players recently. Former Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Ed King (pictured) died in Nashville on 22 August, aged 68. King featured on the band’s first three albums alongside guitarists Gary Rossington and Allen Collins, co-writing the enduring, 1974 classic Sweethomealabama.
Funk Brothers guitarist Eddie Willis passed away on 20 August, aged 82. As part of the legendary Motown session band, Willis played on hits by Stevie Wonder and The Supremes.
