MECHANICAL REPAIR 1964 EH HOLDEN ESSENTIAL: STUBBIE HOLDER

Townsville Bulletin - Townsville Eye - - Feature -

I’ve done 16 Bashes. My first was in 1998, Reef to Reef, then I missed one, then I think I’ve done every one since. There were originally three Steves. We built both cars but since then one Steve moved to Ingham and built a Bash car with mates up there. We still tag along together on the Bash. We’ve had two EH Holdens. The first one we bought as a Bash car but it just rusted away, so we found another one. This will be its ninth. It’s got power steering and airconditioning. Sometimes we do a mini Bash just to give it a run. It’s good fun and you work, and the money you raise is going to a very good cause and you see it first hand. You see fellas you think could take on a brown bear and they’re sobbing in a corner. Some of the things you see, it really gets you right here.”
