Townsville Bulletin - Townsville Eye - - Feature -

It’s all Tanya’s fault, she said, ‘Want to come on a Bash?’ and I said, ‘OK.’ I knew about it – my husband had been on a fourwheel-drive one, so I said, ‘Build me a Bash car’. We own a workshop, LM Motors, so he did. It’s got power steering, airconditioning, and a socket for our hairdryer! It’s all a real learning curve for us. It’s been huge. This is definitely not a race. We’ve done the school runs so we’re very qualified for the traffic! Our entry has really been powered off the back of sausages. We’ve been selling them at Label Traders market. It’s been a year to the day since we started. You have to raise money for fuel, insurance and rego, and there are food levies. Our workshop funded the cost of the car. It’s been so much hard work, so once we get going it’ll be so nice, it’ll be easy.”
