CORRECTIVE SERVICES 1971 MUSTANG ESSENTIAL: BEER & FUEL

Townsville Bulletin - Townsville Eye - - Feature -

I got involved when the 2009 Bash started in Townsville and went to Ayers Rock. I bought my car the next year. I didn’t quite have it ready for 2010 but started in 2011. I was into motorbikes when I was younger so I wasn’t really into cars until I got the Bash car. I only know what I’ve picked up from the other blokes. I originally had a 1969 Valiant – it was really hard to find parts for. Mustangs are basically the same as a Falcon, the parts will go straight in. I did the first two bashes with a friend from school, then with a friend from the Army Reserve for the next two years who unfortunately passed away about four weeks after the Bash but he got his last hurrah, which was good. It’s a lot of fun and camaraderie, and seeing what they do for the kids, that’s the important thing. You get to get away from life in general, television, phones — it’s usually 3000Ks, all on dirt.” -
