Mag­i­cal mermaids have swum all the way through the Great Bar­rier Reef to Reef HQ to share their mer­maid tales with Townsville boys and girls. Mer­maid Cora, Mer­maid Cheili, Mer­maid Jess and Mer­maid Amelia will make a splash in Townsville from Mon­day to Sun­day next week, with meet-and-greets and mer­maid shows for all ages to en­joy. The Mu­seum of Trop­i­cal Queens­land’s Dino De­scen­dants school hol­i­day pro­gram kicks off on Satur­day, with a large skele­ton dig pit, in­ter­ac­tive fos­sil touch ta­bles, di­nosaur craft and a mini di­nosaur trail through the mu­seum among the high­lights. Bud­ding dino lovers can em­bark on an in­ter­ac­tive, mu­si­cal and sci­en­tific ad­ven­ture with renowned singing palaeontologist, Pro­fes­sor Flint. This in­ter­ac­tive the­atri­cal event is the per­fect way to get young ac­tors out of the house these school hol­i­days. Pre­sented by Townsville Lit­tle The­atre, Play Box is a fam­ily-friendly col­lec­tion of sto­ries and songs aimed at chil­dren aged 2-12. The short plays are based on fairy­tales and full of songs and in­ter­ac­tiv­ity for au­di­ences young and old. Shows will run daily from Wed­nes­day to Satur­day next week at the St Mar­garet Mary’s Theatrette on Crowle St, next to the Townsville RSL.
