The new­est restau­rant on Townsville’s din­ing scene has been two years in de­vel­op­ment. Owned by Matt Mer­rin of Jam Cor­ner fame, the up­stairs part of Bridge­wa­ter is very much top end din­ing but at a rea­son­able price. Down­stair, the Bridge Bar has more of a ca­sual vibe and is a great place to grab a drink and some ta­pas or other smaller items to share. There is a real fo­cus on lo­cal pro­duce too. Al­though Matt over­sees the op­er­a­tion, Ty Samuel is the head chef and drives the new space on Townsville’s river­front.
