River­way puts on hol­i­day fun

GREM­LINS will take over River­way tonight, with a free pub­lic screen­ing of the pop­u­lar Grem­lins­movie over the la­goons from 8pm.

River­way man­ager Don Gor­don said the movie would pro­vide free, good qual­ity, fam­ily en­ter­tain­ment in a re­laxed en­vi­ron­ment.

‘‘Most peo­ple will be fin­ish­ing work on Fri­day and this is the per­fect way to cel­e­brate the start of the fes­tive sea­son with the whole fam­ily,’’ Mr Gor­don said.

‘‘It is a very ex­pen­sive time of year so we are happy to of­fer a fun and free en­ter­tain­ment op­tion to en­joy.

‘‘ Grem­lin­swill be the sec­ond of seven free movies screened at River­way over the hol­i­day sea­son as part of the River­way Hol­i­day Pro­gram.

‘‘On Satur­day we also have Jazz on the Ter­race with Cap­tain Nemo from 6pm, also for free.’’

Fan­tas­ticFour,Zathura, Ru­n­awayVa­ca­tion,The Bench­warm­er­sand IceAge 2will be screened on Fri­day nights in the com­ing weeks.

Mr Gor­don said with 43 dif­fer­ent ac­tiv­i­ties and events through­out the hol­i­day pro­gram there was sure to be some­thing to suit ev­ery­one’s taste.

‘‘There’s ev­ery­thing from car­toon­ing to sew­ing, sten­cil art, lo­mog­ra­phy/ pho­tog­ra­phy and fash­ion art work­shops.’’
