Big Day Out line-up gets bigger
third and final line-up announcement has been made for next year’s Gold Coast Big Day Out (BDO) and it’s nothing short of spectacular. With the festival less than a month away, some more big names in the music industry including touring and local acts have been announced.
And top of the list is Aussie act The Vines.
The grungy, garage rock band has come a long way since the early days of belting out Nirvana covers at suburban house parties and will once again play at the festival.
Previous winners of the Triple J Unearthed competition, The Sick Puppies are another band to have been listed on the massive line-up.
The three-piece will return to home soil after basing themselves in the US and will also be making an appearance in Townsville at Bombay Rock shortly after their BDO stint.
BDO will also play host to the Heavy Flintshow featuring Keith from The Prodigy.
Moving on from his previous solo projects Flint and Clever Brains Fryin, Keith will be igniting BDO with his antics, teaming up with Heavy G for a set that will feature dance floor killers aplenty.
Some of the many other bands who have recently been announced to play include Perth band Snowman, techno artist Digital Primate, DJ Mark Murphy and New Zealand hip hop artist P-Money.
The new acts join the already announced line-up including Tool, Muse, Jet, Violent Femmes, Eskimo Joe, The Killers, John Butler Trio, My Chemical Romance, Evermore, Little Birdy, Presets, Something For Kate, You Am I, Bob Evans, The Butterfly Effect, The Sleepy Jackson, The Herd, The Drones, [love]Tattoo, Lily Allen, Shapeshifter and many more.
>> The Gold Coast Big Day Out will be held at the Gold Coast Parklands on Sunday, January 21, from 11am. Tickets have sold out.
