Car hits wo­man out­side club

A FE­MALE pedes­trian was struck by a ve­hi­cle along Flin­ders St East on Thurs­day night.

The 25-year-old fe­male was struck shortly af­ter 11pm by a small sedan while walk­ing across a ze­bra cross­ing out­side the Mad Cow Tav­ern.

A Queens­land Am­bu­lance spokes­woman said the wo­man was be­lieved to have been struck at low speed, re­sult­ing in mi­nor in­juries.

‘‘She was taken to hospi­tal with mi­nor cuts and abra­sions,’’ she said.

A Queens­land Fire and Res­cue spokes­woman said yes­ter­day fire crews at­tended the scene.

‘‘On ar­rival there was a ca­su­alty ly­ing in the mid­dle of the road out­side the Mad Cow,’’ she said.

She said fire crews blocked the road un­til the pa­tient was taken to hospi­tal.

The wo­man was con­scious as am­bu­lance work­ers checked her for spine and rib in­juries.

Po­lice re­ceived a triple 0 call at 11.08pm.
