XF marks the spot
JAGUAR has announced that the replacement for its troubled S-Type sedan is a ‘striking, challenging and daring’ sports saloon that will be badged as the XF. Jaguar announced the name and little else about one of the most significant new models to wear the famous ‘leaper’. ‘‘The XF is a striking, challenging and daring design for what is a truly beautiful, fast car delivering on Jaguar’s promise of excitement,’’ Jaguar Australia spokeswoman Lesa Horntvedt says. ‘‘This is the part of the brand’s new design direction . . . the first taste of a new order.’’ Positioned in the luxury mid-size segment, the new Jaguar XF, is from the pen of head of design Ian Callum, the man responsible for the recently released XK. The XF will make its public debut late next year and reach Australian showrooms around the middle of 2008.
