Rain to stay

LAST night’s rainy con­di­tions should con­tinue around the re­gion over the com­ing days.

Townsville Weather Bureau fore­caster Andrew Cearns said rain would con­tinue to fall around the re­gion un­til the new year.

‘‘We’re look­ing at a bit of in­crease in rain for to­mor­row (Thurs­day).

‘‘There may be a few good falls around but there are also iso­lated thun­der storms around, of­fer­ing a few mil­lime­tres here and there,’’ Mr Cearns said.‘‘There should be patchy rain over the next few days.’’

He said about 20mm of rain would fall over the next three days.
