Follow up on litterbug

Townsville Bulletin - - Letters Extra -

‘DISGUSTED’ from Ayr in his text to the editor tells of while driving to Townsville, a semi-trailer driver was throwing his rubbish on to the road hitting his and other vehicles (TB, December 20).

The author said that despite his blasting on his horn, the semi-trailer driver continued to throw litter on the road.

I hope ‘Disgusted’ from Ayr that you did not just stop at blasting your horn and sending a text message to the editor about what you had witnessed. I would have hoped that you got the truck’s number and gave it to the police, and that you would also be prepared to go to court as a witness against that litterbug if your information comes to charges being laid.

Because until people such as these are caught and prosecuted, we will continue to have filthy litterbugs littering our roads. BRUCEDOUGLAS,
