Potential savings on water wastage
THERE are big water savings to be made if drought-stricken Australians use more efficient toilets, says bathroom products, garden care and homeware supplier GWAInternational Ltd.
GWAmanaging director Peter Crowley said low-flush toilets could save significant amounts of water.
Mr Crowley said his company, whose brands include Caroma bathroom products and Dux hot water systems, recently released a product that used only 4.5 litres of water on a full flush and three litres of water for the alternate flush. In Australia, there were about three million toilets that were using 12 litres of water on every flush.
Mr Crowley said another watersaving device was a water pump mounted under a sink which measured water temperature.
