No injuries in high-speed crash
TWOdrivers were lucky to walk away from a horrific high-speed crash at Black River yesterday.
Two cars collided head on at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Bowden Rd about 4.20pm.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said both cars were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
But he said occupants of both cars walked away relatively unscathed.
The spokesman said ambulance officers had treated one person on the scene for a minor injury.
Earlier, emergency services had rushed to a two-car crash outside the Dalrymple Hotel.
The spokesman said the cars had collided on Pilkington St about 4.05pm.
He said two patients were taken to Townsville Hospital with minor injuries.
A Queensland Police spokesman said police were investigating the possibility that one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol during the crash.
