Boy hurt on ferry
A PALM Island boy was airlifted to Townsville Hospital after his hand caught in a rope on the back of a Sunferries vessel yesterday.
Emergency Management Queensland’s rescue chopper was sent in after it became clear the boy needed extra medical attention to his injured hand.
The boy walked off the ferry with ambulance officers who initially took him to the Palm Island Hospital.
Sunferries general manager Mark McKeon said a full review of the incident would be conducted today.
