Lack of road lines cause traffic havoc

Townsville Bulletin - - Voice Of The North -

I TOO would like to register my concerns about the absence of line marki n g a t t h e n e w traffic signals at the entry to the Airforce Base on Ingham Road ( TB 26/ 2/ 11). Travelling this route regularly I have also witnessed motorists trying to change lanes suddenly when they find themselves facing oncoming traffic, all because there are no lane m a r k i n g s . Unfortunately, as usual, our council’s response to the obvious safety issue is to wheel out Mr Magoo to do an inspection and spout the usual platitudes, telling us to slow down, take extra care, be patient etc. We do not all drive around with our eyes shut Cr Veitch. This intersection is and has been a hazard ever since y o u r c o u n c i l s t a r t e d work on it. It is a pity you and the rest of the TCC c a n ’ t r e s p o n d i n a r e a s o n a b l e m a n n e r rather than treating the person like an idiot. TERRY URQUHART,

Kirwan.
