Opes Prime crim­i­nal trial

A FOR­MER di­rec­tor of failed stock-lender Opes Prime has been com­mit­ted to stand trial on crim­i­nal charges stem­ming from its col­lapse.

Lirim ( Laurie) Emini, 47, has pleaded not guilty to 26 counts aris­ing from an Aus­tralian Se­cu­ri­ties and In­vest­ments Com­mis­sion in­ves­ti­ga­tion of the col­lapse.

Two other for­mer Opes Prime direc­tors also ap­peared in the same court.

All three are charged with breach­ing their du­ties as direc­tors of Opes Prime. Emini also is charged with breach­ing his du­ties as a di­rec­tor of Lever­aged Cap­i­tal Pty Ltd.
