Quake rocks Wellington
A 4.5 MAGNITUDE earthquake hit Wellington last night, sparking fresh fears of similar scenes to those in Christchurch. The quake, which occurred at 10.07 pm local time, was felt in the North Island and upper South Island, and was located 20km northwest of the capital. Though it caused no damage, the earthquake hit at a depth of 40km. Last week’s quake hit at 5km depth. Rescuers are still working around the clock in Christchurch with fears the death toll could top 240.
